MapleStory N
Restrictions

Use of unauthorized programs such as hacking tools or macro programs may violate [Operation Policy - Section 3. Service Use Restriction] and account access may be restricted.

If access is restricted due to a policy violation, special support such as shortening the restriction period cannot be provided.

To prevent the misuse of unauthorized programs, specific details about the program used are not disclosed. Thank you for your understanding.

MapleStory N monitors abnormal gameplay behavior in accordance with its operation policies. Beyond the use of explicit hacks or macros, certain behaviors are strongly discouraged.
Below is a detailed guide on what constitutes discouraged gameplay and how such behavior is monitored.
1. Discouraged Gameplay
MapleStory N is intended to be played as a standalone client.
Running abnormal programs alongside MapleStory N or tampering with PC or network data may prevent proper gameplay logging and is treated as an attempt to bypass detection.
If you engage in the following behaviors, it may be considered use of unauthorized programs, so we strongly advise against them:
1. Playing on a wallet account that belongs to someone else
2. Accessing or playing via remote control programs
3. Running multiple clients simultaneously (including those launched via OS-level features)
4. Using software/devices to monitor and control multiple PCs or wallets simultaneously
5. Accessing or playing using spoofing tools (e.g., IP/MAC address spoofing, virtual hardware)
6. Using hardware/software that enables macro or repeated input functions (e.g., special keyboards, mouses, joysticks, controllers)
* Use of such devices is not restricted by the system, but abnormal patterns may still result in enforcement
7. Launching or playing the game alongside unofficial/unsupported programs
8. Running illegal programs used in other games while playing MapleStory N
9. Repeatedly failing the in-game security systems (e.g., Lie Detector)
10. Farming in-game currency or items using multiple wallets on the same IP/device for personal gain
* Accounts using system information flagged for abnormal activity may be treated as belonging to the same user
11. Any other repetitive gameplay pattern that significantly deviates from normal play behavior
※ Running non-game related apps (e.g., music/video players) will not be flagged as abnormal programs.
※ Any software used to open or modify the MapleStory N client or resources is subject to restriction regardless of actual usage.
※ If new forms of unsupported behavior are identified, this document will be updated continuously.
2. Monitoring Criteria and Methods
If unauthorized programs or abnormal patterns are detected, game restrictions may be applied based on the following criteria:
* Repeated use of unsupported gameplay practices
* Activity patterns that significantly deviate from those of most Maplers
※ Monitoring includes not only recent activity but also up to 90 days of past gameplay records. Thus, the date of restriction may not align with the date of violation.
※ If multiple policy violations are detected, the most severe violation will determine the penalty.
Game Crash

It has been confirmed that, during the game login process, a pop-up message stating "You have been disconnected from the login server. Please try again later." may intermittently appear, preventing access to the game.
As a temporary workaround, please refer to the following instructions.
[Temporary Workaround]
1. The pop-up message may appear if the network IP changes unexpectedly during gameplay. Please check the current network environment and try reconnecting to the game.
2. Completely remove the existing game files, then reinstall the client and attempt to reconnect.
※ If any additional temporary solutions are identified, they will be updated accordingly.

If you experience frequent game crashes or have difficulty accessing the game normally, please refer to the following steps:
1. Check your PC network connection (e.g., internet connection) and try reconnecting to the game.
2. If your issue persists after Step. 1, uninstall and reinstall MapleStory N and try accessing the game again.
* [Temporary Measure] If the downloaded MapleStory N game file is saved in a folder with a non-English name, the game may not launch properly. Please save the file in a folder with an English name.

2. Choose "Report".
3. For REASON, select "Report Use of Illegal Programs"

In this case, you need to move closer to the character and try again.
※ Make sure to take a look at the full list of CHARACTER NAME.
There may be more than one abusive character overlapping on one another to not be fully visible in the field.
In order to report all abusive characters one by one, you need to select each character in the CHARACTER NAME list and report.
5. Press Enter key to report.
If you are having difficulty chasing the abusive character, you may follow the procedure below as an alternative:
※ Click "Menu" on the bottom of the game screen.
※ Click "Report".
Items

There are two main reasons why your pet might not be picking up dropped items and NESOLET.
Please refer to the following information:
-
The pet's Item Pickup skill might be turned OFF. Check the status of this skill as follows:
- Summon your pet, then open the Equipment window and go to the Pet tab.
- Click OPTION to see if the Item Pickup skill is enabled.
- Enable Item Pickup skill if it is disabled.
-
If you are using a skill that hides your character, such as Thief's Dark Sight, your pet will not pick up dropped items and NESO. You can only pick up dropped items when such skills are deactivated, so keep this in mind.

If you can't see the item's options, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Press ESC or click Settings button on the bottom of the game screen.
2. Click Options.
3. In the Game tab, check the box for Item Options > Short Tooltips to activate the tooltip function.
Titles & Medals
You can determine the visibility of Titles and Medals on game screen by toggling the checkbox in the Equipment window under the equipment tab.
- When visibility is turned off, the stats will still apply, but the equipped image will not be visible to you or other Maplers.

If the amount of NESO in your inventory differs from what you see in Marketplace > Inventory, it is likely that some of the NESO you have is in the form of NESOLET.
In MapleStory N, the currency used for Marketplace is NESO.
To convert NESOLET to NESO:
- Obtain NESOLET through gameplay.
- Claim NESO from NESOLET in your character inventory.

If you have sufficient NESO in your inventory but can't proceed with enhancement, it is likely that you are currently holding NESOLET instead of NESO.
You need to convert NESOLET to NESO to use it for enhancement.
In MapleStory N, the currency used for game content is NESO.
To convert NESOLET to NESO:
- Obtain NESOLET through gameplay.
- Claim NESO from NESOLET in your character inventory.

Through Star Force enhancement, you can make your equipment stronger, but there is also a chance of a Failure.
※ Please note that Star Force level drop from Failure and Major Failure during the enhancement process can't be restored.
Important Information
- Enhancement level will not decrease from Failure at the 10-star, 15-star, and 20-star levels.
- In the event of Major Failure during Star Force enhancement, the Star Force level will drop to 10 stars from all levels, including 15 stars and 20 stars.

If you want to move your character to a different world, you can unlink the character from the current world and then link it to the desired world.
※ Please note that after you link a character in your desired world, there is a 10-day waiting period before you can unlink your character again.
※ After you purchase a character from MSU Marketplace, you can link it to your desired world even if the character is from a different world.

There are several potential reasons a character name doesn't show up in the Player Ranking board even though it exists in the game:
- Characters that have been restricted.
- Characters created in less than 24 hours.
- Characters that have not completed the 1st Job Advancement or are below level 10.

You can instantly move to specific towns and fields through the Maple Guide after meeting certain conditions. If the conditions are not met, you may be unable to move to another field or be directed to a related field instead.
For example, if you have not completed the final Quest in the Magnus prerequisite Quest series, [Easy Magnus] Magnus Simulator Quest, you will not be able to move to the Easy Magnus Boss field through Maple Guide.
※ You can use Maple Guide only after your character reach level 30.
If you have met all the conditions but still can't move, please submit a ticket through our Support for further assistance.

If you are unable to complete or accept a Quest, please check if your inventory is full.
When your inventory is full, the items necessary for Quest completion can't be given, preventing you from completing or accepting the Quest.
Make sure you have at least two empty slots in your equipment, consumables, and other inventory sections before attempting to complete or accept the Quest again.

Here's how to retrieve the lost item for the Quest.
- Talk to the NPC who gave you the Quest to obtain the necessary item again.
- If the NPC does not provide the Quest item again, forfeit the ongoing Quest and accept it again to receive the item.
If these two methods do not resolve the issue, please submit a ticket through our Support for further assistance.
